Our London studio is where we develop some of our more unique projects with our partners across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. It’s also the home of our design technology and innovation team and our international competition hub.
Located in London’s east, you can find us in a former paper warehouse, originally built in 1908 and now transformed into a light-filled hub of soaring ceilings and creativity.
It’s here we collaborate with astronomers on projects like a cultural pavilion for the world’s oldest observatory and meet with the UK’s leading minds in education to talk masterplans for universities. We also host events for graduates and aspiring architects and visualise the renewal of urban centres via abundant green spaces in cities from Belfast to Brighton.
Alongside our expertise in education, urban design and commercial workplaces, our studio is the headquarters for our experience design partners FreeState, so it’s fair to say that no two days are the same at Hassell London.

How international competitions are supercharging architecture
A demand for architectural competitions brings opportunities worldwide for designers to reimagine better, more resilient, regenerative and inclusive ways of living. Our Competition Hub, now celebrating its first anniversary, is one way we’re amplifying our ability to draw on award-winning architects across our global studios to imagine a richer future.
An amazing collection of experts in space travel, Mars and living in extreme habitats at the Mars symposium at @hassell_studio. Lots to take on board…
