Hassell intern awarded at CareerTrackers Gala Dinner

Congratulations to Patrick Garlett-Forrest, an intern in our Perth Studio who was recognised at the CareerTrackers Gala Dinner in Melbourne.

Patrick received the Community Spirit Award, given to interns who demonstrate outstanding commitment to the development of their individual community. They also demonstrate leadership within their community and uphold the responsibility of being a role model to future generations.

Patrick is in his second year of Architecture at Curtin University and started his internship at Hassell in July last year.

Hassell Principal Harley Vincent and People and Culture Leader Tania Trajkovski attended the event with Patrick.

It was an honour to be in the room and to hear such inspiring stories from the young indigenous participants about the profound impact this program has had on their lives – it really has been life changing for them,” Harley said.

There are over 12,000 registered Architects in Australia - but only 27, or 0.002% are Indigenous.

CareerTrackers is a not-for-profit with the goal of creating pathways and support systems for Indigenous young adults to graduate university with high marks, industry experience, and bright professional futures.
