"The HASSELL design provides a unique, landmark building which would add vitality and quality to the mix of buildings in the city, while responding to the individual requirements of the site."
Mark Tait, General Manager Commercial Development, Investa Office
'The first choice' for tenants
An ambitious addition to the Sydney skyline will attract the most progressive, highly-prized tenants and return urban character to the city's key global financial hub.
The rich history and civic meaning of this coveted Sydney address makes 60 Martin Place a once-in-a-generation opportunity for Investa Property Group and Gwynvill Group to consolidate their reputations for developing and owning great commercial buildings.
HASSELL has designed 60 Martin Place to anticipate and exceed the future needs of tenants and staff, supporting Investa's overarching vision to be the "first choice in Australian office". The design also includes a new and engaging area for the public, creating a truly shared civic space.
Once the domain of traditional banks, Martin Place now attracts companies with more diverse workplace requirements. Our design for flexible, connected workspaces with views and leafy roof gardens mean those who work at 60 Martin Place can informally connect with other people in the building. Importantly, it will be a place where the most talented people will want to work.
Our design aims to deliver a 6 Star Green Star/5 Star NABERS outcome for Investa and Gwynvill. Significant initiatives include a high performance building envelope, a partially self-shading north façade and 'end-of-trip' facilities to support cyclists, joggers and walkers coming to work at 60 Martin Place.
A building to shape the city
We see 60 Martin Place as being generous in green spaces, which is good for tenants, their employees and the wider public. The five lower floors of 60 Martin Place will buzz day and night with people enjoying indoor and outdoor cafes, restaurants, event spaces and their shady respite, all in the tradition of urban spaces in the world’s best cities.
We designed 60 Martin Place's striking curved façade to offer 'breathing space' to the neighbouring St Stephen's Church and the heritage qualities of this part of Sydney.
When the top of the building becomes visible from Sydney Harbour, the green terraces integrate with the Domain and the Royal Botanic Gardens, making 60 Martin Place a very complementary neighbour.
