“Construction of the new playground is another exciting step into the future for Perth Zoo and I’m proud to see it start to come to life. The new play space will be fun, vibrant and educational. It will allow Western Australian children and their friends to connect with nature and explore.”
New playground coming as part of Perth Zoo transformation
Construction has commenced on a $3.8 million all-ages, nature-based playground in a milestone for Perth Zoo. The unique and cutting-edge playground has been designed by landscape architects Hassell and will be built by Crothers Construction. Get ready to run wild at the new Perth Zoo accessible playground
Outdoor Design Source reports on the unveiling of plans for our $3.8 million accessible nature-based playground that “will be a show-stopping inclusion to Perth Zoo”. In collaboration with construction company Crothers, we’re creating an all-ages, all-abilities playspace featuring a cloud deck, giant numbat climbing structure, swinging ropes, hammocks, sensory elements, bridges, tunnels and more. Designed to showcase Perth Zoo’s conservation work, the playground will begin construction in Spring 2023.
