Rob Backhouse

作为一名设计师和Hassell董事会主席，Rob为塑造雄心勃勃的企业设计文化起到了关键作用。
作为室内设计师，他基于多个专业和视角开展协同和整合设计的观念广为人知。在2017年，室内设计卓越奖（IDEA）授予他金质奖章（最高级别奖项），表彰其在职业生涯中对澳大利亚设计文化的持续贡献。2020年，他成为了澳大利亚设计协会（DIA）名人堂中的一员。他同时还是国际室内建筑师／设计师联盟（IFI）的会士，并于 2025 年获任皇家墨尔本理工大学（RMIT University）室内设计兼职教授。
Rob参与的项目荣获过众多国际奖项，其中包括世界上最大最复杂的办公空间、大型的住宅区开发和定制设计住宅。近几年的项目更是扩展至航空领域的建成环境。
他拥有与生俱来的领导力，在工作中他以身作则激励团队成员，擅于激发参与感。他也是设计价值的积极倡导者，经常受邀参与学术项目、为业界刊物撰稿和出席国际设计活动。
Rob已取得皇家墨尔本理工大学的博士学位。他热衷于通过优秀的设计满足人们的情感诉求且为人们的日常生活创造切实的影响，并挖掘设计的潜力以改造企业或重塑整个城市。
An interior designer, Rob is now widely known for his work on collaborative, integrated projects drawing on diverse disciplines and perspectives. In 2017, IDEA awarded him the gold medal – their highest honour – for his enduring contributions to Australia’s design culture over the course of his career. In 2020, Rob was welcomed into the Design Institute of Australia’s (DIA) Hall of Fame. He is also a fellow of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI) and, in 2025, was appointed as an Adjunct Professor in Interior Design at RMIT University.
Rob’s international, award-winning projects range from some of the world’s largest and most complex workplaces to residential and mixed-use developments. In more recent years, his work has also extended into aviation environments.
He’s an engaging, instinctive leader who inspires by example. He’s also an eloquent advocate for the value of design, and is regularly invited to contribute to academic programs, industry publications and international design events.
Having obtained his PhD at RMIT University, Rob loves the visceral, tangible impact great design has on people every day – and the potential it has to transform a business or change an entire city.
