Café Lafayette’s eclectic design up for award

A Melbourne café with a surprising mix of Japanese influences and bushranger motifs has turned heads at the 2020 Eat Drink Design Awards. 

Opened early in 2020, Café Lafayette​’s design reflects the experimental nature of the menu. The dichroic glass and stainless steel creates a kaleidoscope of colours that reflects across the various surfaces to catch diners off-guard.

The café has been shortlisted for Best Café Design. Winners will be announced in November, check out the other shortlisted projects in the 2020 Eat Drink Design Awards.
