Liv Apartments

Once a neglected car yard – now a modern, mixed-use development with great sustainability credentials. Liv Apartments represent a new kind of neighbourhood.

Together with the client, local council and community we created a vibrant, active place to attract people and commercial activity to the area, renewing the east end of the historic port city of Fremantle just south of Perth, Australia.

We also worked closely with the consultancy team to focus the project design around One Planet Living sustainability standards, incorporating edible gardens, rooftop solar photovoltaic panels and an organic waste dehydration facility.

The three distinct buildings feature frontages that reflect the character of the street they face – either industrial or arts-focused.

A landscaped central spine running the length of the development invites the community in – and opens up 690sqm of bonus’ recreational space for everyone to enjoy.
