Australian Intern Program

HASSELL offers both 6-month and 12-month paid fulltime internships for both students, who are currently enrolled at university, and recent graduates. HASSELL is now looking for talented students and graduates to join us and become our next generation. Successful interns will have the chance to work on a variety of projects to build an understanding of the functions and processes involved in project work.

Project Commercial Manager

We’re looking for a dedicated Project Commercial Manager with strong consultancy and stakeholder management experience in medium to large scale projects to join HASSELL.

This is your opportunity to become part of an integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects and urban designers to work on large, city-shaping projects within the Eastern Region.

Key tasks and capabilities

Contracts and fees:
_Lead the negotiating process in all new contracts and scopes within HASSELL with continual monitoring of contractual obligations
_Assist in developing and managing work plans from fee submission process
_Ensure links across studios regarding costs rates and fee percentages are aligned
_Prepare, submit and monitor forecasts – fees, cash flow and invoicing
_Debtors - monitor, pursue and report

Risk Mitigation:
_Lead the risk identification, reporting and mitigation process
_Contract review, working with practice management and our insurers to determine the intent and consequences of contract conditions

Senior Architectural Technician

The role                                                                                                                

We are now looking for a Senior Architectural Technician to join our Brisbane Studio where you will assist the design and documentation teams to produce accurate architectural, design and documentation drawings, specifications and related construction documents.

The position will include the coordination of architectural and sub-consultants works, technical resolution of architectural issues and assistance to the documentation teams.  Ability will be assessed subject to experience but all candidates must be technically proficient and preferably highly skilled in relevant software to support design communication and documentation.

About you

You will act as a point of contact and the controller of all standards and information inputted into Revit based BIM model/s. The following skills and experience are required:

_Minimum 6 years’ experience in a similar role

_Advanced Revit skills

_In-depth understanding of local codes and regulations, and building construction technology and practices

_Working within the team with ability to develop design solutions; able to develop design solutions incorporating these into the subsequent design and construction phases

_Developing design drawings, such as plans, sections, elevations and models using hand drawings as well as advanced CAD and 3D software

_BIM Coordination and daily management of BIM project data sets/workflows and project set up

_Establishing and sustaining a reputation, both internally and externally, as a skilled and innovative designer; keeping informed of developments in design techniques and trends across the industry and applying these to day-to-day design thinking

Senior FF+E Designer – Hospitality

Our Singapore studio currently has a position available for a Senior Landscape Architect/Associate.  You will be responsible for delivering complex projects through to a successful completion, by leading project teams in completing design, documentation and contract administration of various interesting and significant projects both around Singapore and internationally. 

You will be required to have an understanding of the specific components of such projects from procurement through to implementation.  Strong skills in concept development and communication are important, as is the ability to lead highly motivated design and documentation teams.  

A minimum of eight to ten years experience in the public and private domain of urban environments is essential, as is SILA registration.  You will also have demonstrated skills in project financial management, documentation, specification writing, contract administration and professional presentation.  Knowledge and experience in tropical environments and plants is also required.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe packages is a base requirement. Revit, Sketchup and 3D presentation skills would be an advantage.
