The project is about creating a city which is in tune with its environment and allows the watercourse ecologies and economic development to work in tandem to create a truly liveable city for future generations. By re-embracing the rivers, the people are able to enjoy the landscape in ways not available to them currently. The client wanted the guests to experience different emotions throughout the various areas of the hotel, while making the best possible use out of an existing structure that included several columns and beams as well as low ceilings

The dramatic entrance canopies allow extensive use of natural day light throughout the underground stations. The strong, elegant design incorporates simple, unambiguous circulation on concourse and platform areas, a robust palette of materials to accommodate heavy wear and tear, and a vibrant overlay of signage and public art to animate the public realm
