HASSELL is actively involved in designing a public realm that will become an inviting and memorable part of the city fabric. The apartment planning, materials and detailing combine to provide a crafted and traditional feel. Be it the timber parlour bedroom doors or the generous vanity suites in the bathrooms, the design is a poetic response to a comfortable urban lifestyle

The recreation and open space network provide high-quality, well-integrated and multi-functional landscaped areas of open space, accommodating a range of recreational and leisure facilities that meet the needs of the local community and also provide for attractive visitor nodes

The design responds to the local environmental characteristics identified in the Scarborough precinct and uses these elements to form the basis of the design principles applied to the built form

The building's facade features a series of dark screens and balconies with perforated aluminium panels that spill leaf-shaped sunlight into the apartments. Dark hallways create a sense of luxury and calm – an entrance that helps accentuate the light and bright apartments inside.

Careful planning has made the most of the unique location to ensure direct river or harbour views for the majority of apartments. The interplay of three distinctive building forms creates strong composition to complement the landmark address at the gateway to the Fremantle Harbour

Designed as a family beach house, the materials are defined by the local context and surrounding landscape. Ironbark will grey-off to suggest indigenous Moonah trees, while limestone references the nearby heritage-listed lime kiln.
