HASSELL Managing Director, Rob Backhouse, features in issue No 34 of Artichoke magazine with his report from the World Architecture Festival that took place in Barcelona late last year.
In Barcelona, Rob represented HASSELL in the interiors category, which the practice won with ANZ Centre. There was a strong Australian contingency at the Festival, including Woods Bagot, BVN and FJMT who were also in the running for the top interiors award.
Reflecting on his experiences in Barcelona and the work presented by the designers in the interiors category, Rob discusses Australia's success saying, "perhaps it just says something about the increased effort, passion and care that Australian architectural and interior design firms, with our clients, have been placing on the importance of our internal built environment."
