HASSELL

pp. 178-180

HASSELL was profiled in the autumn issue of Box luxury lifestyle magazine. The article features a discussion with Scott Walker, Interior Design Principal, and a look into the Spring Street residence, an example of the boutique interior design projects HASSELL is involved in.

The article notes that, “With a somewhat modest and unassuming approach, Walker’s personal philosophy brilliantly blurs the line between structure and sculpture. He continually mines his talent for creating decadent spaces and believes great success is more than just a state of mind but also achieved by surrounding yourself with suitable stimuli.”

Spring Street residence, located in the Melbourne CBD - a project that Scott was heavily involved in - reflects the owners’ commitment to a rigorous design aesthetic of strong architectural heritage. Discussing the principles that led the design of the apartment, the article notes that, “the minimalist aesthetic is making greater inroads than ever before into the cultural consciousness and is regularly on the HASSELL menu. Spring Street is a shining example of this trend with its considered reduction and the removal of extraneous detail in favour of an all-enveloping simplicity.”
