World Architecture (China)
No. 243, September 2010
pp. 78-83, 140
The September 2010 issue of World Architecture, a Chinese publication with international scope, is dedicated to contemporary Australian architecture and features the Parramatta Transport Interchange. The Interchange, completed in 2006, creates a modern, inter-modal transit facility designed sympathetically within a facility dating from 1859.
The article notes that: "The public areas are naturally ventilated, skylights allow sunlight to wash the platforms and spill down into the underground spaces, while cooling breezes pass through the louvered facade bringing relief to waiting passengers."
Also mentioned in the special September issue of World Architecture are other HASSELL projects including the Adelaide Zoo Entrance Precinct, ANZ Centre, Flinders University Health Sciences Building and Tugan Bypass.
