People & Culture Project Resource

We are currently seeking a talented People and Culture Project Resource to join our global team for a  short term 3-4 months fixed term contract. This role will be able to be based in our Adelaide, Sydney or Melbourne studio.

Rail Architects

We are seeking architects with strong experience in railway station design to join our Hong Kong, Singapore, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane studios.

This is your opportunity to become part of an integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects and urban designers, and work on some of the world's most significant city-shaping infrastructure projects.

The extensive technical expertise of the urban transport team at HASSELL is underpinned by our urban design approach to city shaping. We challenge our designers to think beyond individual modes of transport to create truly connected, exceptional places for people.

Delivering public transport infrastructure that integrates seamlessly with people's everyday lives is the key to boosting patronage and imparting a new sense of life and vibrancy to our cities.

We currently have ten stations under construction, ten in detail design and another seven major interchanges at master-planning stage. Central to these projects is our ability to work collaboratively with clients to deliver infrastructure that is both commercially viable and provides welcoming, sustainable and financially sound transport solutions for the future.

We are seeking architects with at least five years' recent experience in railway station design and Associates and Senior Associates with at least eight years' experience. Candidates must be registered architects preferably in the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong or Australia. Design experience with TfNSW, MTR or MRT underground station upgrades/alteration will be a distinct advantage. All our rail projects are delivered using Rhino and Revit. Willingness to travel is essential.

Architecture Internship Program (6-12 months)

HASSELL offers both 6-month and 12-month paid fulltime internships for students who are either currently enrolled at university or have recently graduated.

Successful Interns will have the chance to work on a variety of projects within Melbourne Studio and abroad to build an understanding of the functions and processes involved in project work.

Architectural Technical Officer

Project Architect

We are currently delivering a number of exciting projects across the United Kingdom that will offer a challenge to ambitious and highly talented professionals. We are currently seeking a Project Architect to join our London studio and lead the delivery of a major new faculty building and student facilities for one of the UK’s top universities. The scope of the HASSELL portfolio also presents exciting opportunities to work on commercial workplace, mixed use residential and healthcare projects both in the UK and internationally.

The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in the UK, with demonstrable project delivery and will be a good all-rounder with solid technical skills and an eye for detail. You will be familiar with the UK building regulations, NBS specification writing software and preferably have at least intermediate to advanced knowledge of Revit.

In addition, you must be a team player, have good communication skills, have the ability to work independently and have strong design and problem-solving ability.

UK Studio Accountant

This newly created 3 days per week role is an end to end financial and management accounting role. You will be fully responsible for the day to day, month end and annual finance tasks for the UK company. This is a hands on role where the successful candidate will need to be able to work autonomously.

Primary Responsibilities

General ledger
_Review and process all vendor invoices, ensuring the have the approvals
_Review work in progress and raising customer invoices in accordance with agreed terms
_Track accounts receivable to ensure payment is received within agreed terms
_Maintain balance sheet reconciliations including fixed asset register
_Ensuring all time sheets are completed and liaison with outsourced payroll

Reporting
_Monthly management account reporting
_Monthly income forecasting
_Project reporting including reviewing monthly income, costs, costs to complete and ensuring timesheets are submitted on a timely basis
_Cash management including weekly payments, bank reconciliations and monthly cash flow forecasting
_Quarterly and annual budgets
_Assisting with the annual business plan
_Other ad hoc reports as required

Statutory and tax
_Liaise with Auditors to complete the end of year statutory audit of the financial statements
_Liaise with Tax Agents to complete the annual income tax return and all other taxation reporting
_Prepare and lodge quarterly VAT reports

Other tasks
_Assistance with submissions when required
_Assistance with equipment and tenancy leases

Reporting

This position works closely with other stakeholders within the UK and broader business.
_Directly reports to the Studio managers, the Regional Manager and Group Financial Controller in Australia
_Works closely with the UK Principals, Project leaders, Group Finance in Australia, Business Development and Human Resources.

Key professional skills

_Degree qualified in Accounting/Finance and AAT qualified as a minimum but CIMA/ACCA preferred, with 4-5 years post-qualification experience
_Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX would be beneficial but not essential, however experience with a similar large accounting system is required
_Minimum 6 years’ experience, in industry or Chartered Accounting;

The position of Business Service Support, is a key role in support of the UK leadership team. The UK practice has two studios; one in Cardiff and London. The role will provide support for the Cardiff studio though will require a close working relationship with the staff in the UK studios and internationally and will involve undertaking additional tasks that may not be specified in this description from time to time.

Key responsibilities
Personal Assistant to Cardiff studio principals
_Provide Personal Assistant support to the HASSELL Principals based in Cardiff
_Review, flagging for attention and filing of all email correspondence received/generated
_Manage diaries of the Cardiff Principals
_Arranging all travel, meetings and appointments

Administration
_Manage and oversee a smooth and efficient administrative operation
_Tenant liaison and coordination of Cardiff premises maintenance
_Preparation and distribution of reports, letters, meeting minutes and the like as required
_Assisting with general filing and archiving of documents to meet the HASSELL procedure
_Co-ordinating all external (including international) teleconferences as required
_Co-ordinate, organise and ensure the smooth operation of client events, and other external marketing functions as required
_Manage travel requirements for staff including flights, visas, accommodation, trains, etc.
_Maintain appropriate supplies of office consumables
_Manage the account with Studio suppliers to obtain best price/discount and to meet the HASSELL sustainable procurement guideline

Cardiff studio reception (informal)
_Ensure primary telephone answering for incoming calls at all times during regular office hours
_Greeting visitors on behalf of the company
_Co-ordinate all incoming and outgoing mail and packages with couriers and messengers
_Manage the booking of meeting rooms and ensure refreshments are organised/provided as required. Ensure meeting rooms/spaces are returned to a clean and presentable state immediately following all meetings _Manage the booking out/return of Studio equipment
_Maintain the Studio in a clean and presentable state
_Liaise with external cleaners and monitor service
