Rail Architects

We are seeking architects with strong experience in railway station design to join our Hong Kong, Singapore, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane studios.

This is your opportunity to become part of an integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects and urban designers, and work on some of the world's most significant city-shaping infrastructure projects.

We are seeking architects with at least five years' recent experience in railway station design and Associates and Senior Associates with at least eight years' experience. Design experience with TfNSW, MTR or MRT underground station upgrades/alteration will be a distinct advantage. All our rail projects are delivered using Rhino and Revit. Willingness to travel is essential.

Architecture Internships (6 or 12 months)

HASSELL offers year out paid fulltime internships for students who are either currently enrolled at university or have recently graduated.

Successful Interns will have the chance to work in various areas within the studio throughout the year, learning about its various functions of and the processes involved in project work.

Internships are for 6 or 12 month periods and generally commence in January and July annually.

Senior Landscape Architect/Associate

We currently have a position available for a Senior Landscape Architect/Associate.  You will be responsible for delivering complex projects through to a successful completion, by leading project teams in completing design, documentation and contract administration of various interesting and significant projects both around Australia and internationally. 

You will be required to have an understanding of the specific components of such projects from procurement through to implementation.  Skills in concept development and communication are important, as is the ability to lead highly motivated design and documentation teams.  

A minimum of eight to ten years experience in the public and private domain of urban environments is essential, as is AILA registration.  You will also have demonstrated skills in project financial management, documentation, specification writing, contract administration and professional presentation.  Knowledge of WA plants and an understanding of the unique WA environment is also required.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe packages is a base requirement. Revit, Sketchup and 3D presentation skills would be an advantage.

HASSELL offers paid full-time internships for Landscape Architecture students who are either currently enrolled at university or have just graduated and looking for an internship placement. Students will have the chance to work in various areas within the studio throughout the intern period, learning about its various functions of and the processes involved in project work.

If you are interested in an internship at HASSELL, please note that they last for six or 12 months. These dates are mandatory and training starts in July 2014 and January 2015. Design Lead – Retail

We are now looking for an Associate Interior Designer/Design Leader in our Shanghai or Hong Kong studios to work on a number of exciting retail projects. This role will require creative design/project leaders with relevant experience and skills. They will be responsible for efficiently leading the design process, presenting projects and guiding a support team to ensure the project outcome meets the design excellence requirements of HASSELL.

Personal Assistant, Submission and Business Development Support

We are currently seeking an addition to our Business Support team to provide Personal Assistant support to the Architecture and Landscape Architecture management team (currently 4pax), and to assist in coordinating submission activity across the Singapore studio.

The role will include preparing submissions, reports and marketing material, coordinating internal and external communications for Singapore projects, training staff on HASSELL branding requirements and Adobe InDesign software, and be responsible for the organisation and secretarial support to four Principals and Senior Associate.  

Requirements, e.g. skills and experience

_Excellent organisation and communication kills
_3-4 years’ experience in Microsoft Office suite
_Good knowledge of Adobe CS4  - InDesign skills essential
_Strong word processing competency, excellent spelling and grammar knowledge
_Graphic/layout skills and advantage
_Keyboard skills of 60-wpm

Five years minimum experience in the public and private domain of urban environments is essential, as is expertise in South East Asia horticulture.

Senior Rail Architect

We are currently seeking a Senior Rail Architect to join our Singapore Studio to lead and build the architecture team at an Associate Level. The successful applicant will require highly skilled presentation and drawing skills and strong understanding of the specific components of medium to large projects from concept design through to construction documentation.  A natural strength in design must be evident in the applicant’s portfolio and strong client presentation skills will be highly preferred.

Key skills and experience include:

_Singapore National or Permanent Resident
_Qualified architects registered with Board of Architects Singapore would be preferred
_Above 10 years post-graduate experience with the majority in the rail sector, delivering complex projects as part of collaborative consultant teams
_Demonstrated knowledge/experience in project delivery in Singapore and SE Asia
_Revit knowledge required
_Ability to manage multiple projects and teams concurrently within deadlines
_Effectively collaborates with others
_Strongly self-motivated and ability to inspire others
_Excellent communication skills with the ability to work with major Clients
_Rigorous approach to project detail and methodology

Middle Level Interior Designer

An exciting opportunity exists at HASSELL for a Middle Level Interior Designer or Architect to join the team in our London, UK studio to work on an exciting Global HQ workplace project in central London, for a blue chip company.

The preferred candidates will have proven experience in workplace interior design working within the UK.  A good all rounder with a solid grounding in AutoCad detail documentation for workplace fitout projects, technical detailing, joinery documentation, and interior package documentation. 

Familiarity with UK regulations, NBS specification and BIM is required.  A talented interior designer with excellent design skills using SketchUp 3D and Adobe Photoshop. Project portfolio examples and proven skill in visualising 3D interior concepts are a must. Skills using Revit also advantageous.

_Good All-rounder
_Excellent design and graphics skills
_Proven experience in design documentation - technical drawing and interior package documentation for workplace fit outs, including joinery documentation experience, NBS spec familiarity, are required.
