Rail Architects

We are seeking architects with strong experience in railway station design to join our Hong Kong, Singapore, Perth, Sydney and Brisbane studios.

This is your opportunity to become part of an integrated team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects and urban designers, and work on some of the world's most significant city-shaping infrastructure projects.

The extensive technical expertise of the urban transport team at HASSELL is underpinned by our urban design approach to city shaping. We challenge our designers to think beyond individual modes of transport to create truly connected, exceptional places for people.

Delivering public transport infrastructure that integrates seamlessly with people's everyday lives is the key to boosting patronage and imparting a new sense of life and vibrancy to our cities.

We currently have ten stations under construction, ten in detail design and another seven major interchanges at master-planning stage. Central to these projects is our ability to work collaboratively with clients to deliver infrastructure that is both commercially viable and provides welcoming, sustainable and financially sound transport solutions for the future.

We are seeking architects with at least five years' recent experience in railway station design and Associates and Senior Associates with at least eight years' experience. Candidates must be registered architects preferably in the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong or Australia. Design experience with TfNSW, MTR or MRT underground station upgrades/alteration will be a distinct advantage. All our rail projects are delivered using Rhino and Revit. Willingness to travel is essential.

Finance Assistant

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join our friendly team and provide assistance to the Studio Accountant in the running of the Studio finance and project accounting functions.  Responsibilities will include accounts payable, reconciliations, timesheet administration, petty cash management, banking and project administration.

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Accounts Assistant or Accounts Payable roles.  A Certificate in Accounting, Business Studies (or similar) would be an advantage.

Document Controller

An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and ambitious Document Controller to play a key role within our project delivery team.

You will be responsible for maintaining and controlling the central project documentation management system, encompassing documentation from the project team, client, consultants and third parties. Architecture/Landscape Architecture/Urban Design Interns

HASSELL constantly offers internship opportunities to university students majoring in architecture, urban planning and urban design as a way to cultivate our own professional talents. The opportunities are open to undergraduate/postgraduate students or graduates who wish to pursue a career in design and become backbone of the company’s design team. HASSELL will arrange professional designers to provide one-on-one mentoring in order to assist the intern students in working with the company’s team on project investigation, planning, discussion, designing, revisions and presentation throughout the whole project.

Key role information:

_Senior students or second-year (or above) postgraduate students who are studying landscape architecture, urban planning or other related courses in a major college in China or overseas.
_Good professional capability and design drawings production capability; possessing a clear mind and strong sense of responsibility; creative, proactive in work and good at team working.
_Internship period: 3-6 month; internship schedule: full time. (No less than 3 days a week).
_Remuneration is to be negotiated.

Primary Responsibility:

_Assist Landscape Architects /Urban Designers in the delivery of high quality design projects

Our Shanghai studio is now seeking a Senior Architect to undertake a range of innovative design projects in Hong Kong and PRC. HASSELL offers a collaborative working environment in a boutique design studio culture.

Mid-Weight Interior Designer/Architect

An exciting opportunity exists at HASSELL for a Middle Level Interior Designer or Interior Architect to join the team in our London, UK studio to work on workplace, amongst other exciting projects. The preferred candidates will have proven experience in workplace interior design working within the UK who already possess a solid grounding in AutoCAD detail documentation for workplace fit-out projects. You will be a talented interior designer with excellent design skills using SketchUp 3D (or Rhino) and Adobe Suite Package. Familiarity with UK regulations, NBS specification and some knowledge of Revit/BIM is also desirable. Project portfolio examples and proven skill in visualising 3D interior concepts are required in order for the applicants to be considered for this role.

Key skills and experience:
_Excellent design and graphics skills
_5 years minimum experience gained working within the UK on workplace projects
_Relevant degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
_Experience with AutoCAD, Revit (at least basic knowledge desirable), SketchUp, Rhino and Adobe Creative Suite.
_Proven experience in design documentation - technical drawing and interior package documentation for workplace fit outs, including joinery documentation experience, NBS spec familiarity, are required.
_Self-motivated focus to achieve project deadlines.

Project Architect

We are currently delivering a number of exciting projects across the United Kingdom that will offer a challenge to ambitious and highly talented professionals. We are currently seeking a Project Architect to join our London studio and lead the delivery of a major new faculty building and student facilities for one of the UK’s top universities. The scope of the HASSELL portfolio also presents exciting opportunities to work on commercial workplace, mixed use residential and healthcare projects both in the UK and internationally.

The preferred candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in the UK, with demonstrable project delivery and will be a good all-rounder with solid technical skills and an eye for detail. You will be familiar with the UK building regulations, NBS specification writing software and preferably have at least intermediate to advanced knowledge of Revit.

In addition, you must be a team player, have good communication skills, have the ability to work independently and have strong design and problem-solving ability.

Key skills and experience

_You must have at least 3 to 5 years post Part III qualification experience
_Excellent design and technical skills
_Confident in putting forward new ideas and in developing design concept with others
_Demonstrated knowledge/experience in project delivery
_Solid knowledge of UK building regulations and UK planning policy
_Proven experience in specification writing, technical drawing and job running
_Experience with Revit and InDesign is essential

Senior Interior Designer/Architect

Our London studio is looking for a talented interior designer/architect with excellent design and delivery skills to join our team working on a growing number of exciting high profile workplace projects. A creative designer with a solid background at leading design firms, the preferred candidates will have proven experience in all aspects of workplace design and delivery in the London market from client liaison, briefing and concept design to leading interior package documentation, technical detailing using AutoCAD, NBS specification and knowledge of BIM processes. Experience in working on integrated projects in education desirable but not essential. 

Key skills and experience:

_7 years minimum experience gained working within UK (preferably London) market on workplace projects
_Relevant degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture
